1. What We Collect
When you use Fodjo, we may collect:
- Food photos — sent to our AI service to analyze nutrition. Photos are not stored after processing.
- Nutrition and meal data — stored locally on your device.
- Body metrics — weight, height, age, and goal — stored locally on your device.
- Activity data — if you grant access to Apple Health, we read steps and calories burned. This data stays on your device.
2. How We Use Your Data
Your food photos are sent to our secure proxy server and forwarded to Anthropic's Claude AI to identify food and estimate nutrition. The photo is used solely for this purpose and is not stored on our servers.
All other personal data (meals, weight, goals) is stored only on your device and is never uploaded to our servers.
3. Third-Party Services
Fodjo uses the following third-party service:
- Anthropic Claude API — for AI-powered food analysis. When you scan a meal, your photo is sent to Anthropic's servers for processing. Anthropic's privacy policy applies: anthropic.com/privacy
We do not use any advertising SDKs, analytics platforms, or tracking tools.
4. Apple Health
If you choose to connect Apple Health, Fodjo reads steps and active energy data to display your activity. This data is never sent to our servers. You can revoke access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy → Health.
5. Data Storage
Your personal data is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure storage. We do not have access to this data and cannot recover it if you delete the app.
6. Children's Privacy
Fodjo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the app. Continued use of Fodjo after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
